Drilling Suggestions for Symmetric Cores
|
Detailed below are the suggested layouts selected to help you get the look you want from your SEISMIC BOWLING ball. All layouts are desribed using the Dual Angle method.
If you are in doubt about which layout to use, we suggest discussing your layout with your pro shop professional who knows your game and select the layout best suited to you.

"Pin Down" layouts on symmetric cored balls will create an earlier roll and a lot of control. Using a shorter pin, below 2", will give you a very low flaring ball with a mild and smooth back end, ideal for shorter patterns. Around 3-4" pins will create the most flare the core will allow, while longer pins will reduce flare again and give you a smooth overall reaction.

"Pin Up" layouts on symmetric cored balls will create a later roll and sharper back end reaction. Using a Pin-Pap distance of 3-4" pins will create the most flare the core will allow, while longer pins will reduce flare and give you a later move.

Close to an "Axis" layout, this layout puts the pin close to the PAP creating a smooth low flaring roll which eliminates the dynamic reaction downlane. This layout is only recommended for shorter oil patterns and very high rev players.
